So it occurred to me the other day that while every one was taking the time to properly introduce themselves and their expertise, I just jumped right into my spiel.
Typical marketer, right?
Truth of the matter is, I am incredibly passionate about the digital space and I literally leap at the chance to impart my experiences, knowledge, and sometimes, faux pas with anyone who will listen (or read in this case). My background is in integrated marketing communications and public relations, with a particular emphasis on merging the traditional with Web 2.0. Over the years, my firm, black lotus, has had…
First of all, some housekeeping.
I apologize for the delay between blogs, but I just had a long relationship end, which also meant that I had to move out, and at the same time I changed jobs. Needless to say I have been falling behind, but I am trying to get and stay caught up.
Now, down to business.
Home page Sweet Home page! (Part 1)
Your Home page is your introduction to your company. When you hand out your business card, put your Web site on an ad, or give out your URL at a meeting or a convention, you usually guide…
Rumor has it the best way to deal with an elephant in the room is to introduce it…so allow me to introduce myself. I’m Drew Bufalini and I’ll be one of your SEO Shootout bloggers here on TalentZoo.com. This being my first post, I’ve decided to allow myself the luxury of an introduction. Posts to come will address a wide variety of digital marketing issues including, but not limited to: search engine optimization, business-to-business web marketing, presidential politics online, youth marketing, email marketing, launching a new blog for fun and profit, widgets, social networking, web site reviews, technology updates and…
When I was Web editor for a technology publication, I had the good fortune of having an SEO manager in our company who was available to give me suggestions, give feedback to ideas, and cheer me on even when the numbers weren’t going the way I wanted them quickly enough.
In addition to the behind-the-scenes strategies of making our site load faster and contain more quality content, we also engaged an online keyword service called WordTracker. At around $300 for an annual subscription, WordTracker crawled the Internet for us and identified key words and phrases that were popular and had…
Ever hear of Digital Asset Optimization (DAO)? If you have, good for you. I just came across a very good post by Lee Oddenat Top Rank. The heart of the article can be summized by this paragraph:
If an asset can be searched on, it can be optimized. Identifying all the promotable, digital assets available to a web site gives companies that are not content-rich the additional resources needed to be competitive in today’s search environment.
DAO is just one part of SEO, but nonetheless can be a very valuable addition to your current SEO efforts, especially as dynamic content becomes more and…
I’m guessing I’m not the only one in the world who has found herself subscribed to Web Pro News (laughter cue). And perhaps some subscribers value it. After all, they’ve done a lot lately to up the quality of the marketing email they send out. It actually has, well, web pro news and not what appeared to be primarily partner advertisements.
They’ve also upped the quantity, though, too, and this is annoying me and has the weird effect of getting me me to read EXACTLY NONE of the messages from them that are cluttering my inbox.
Why don’t I unsubscribe…I guess I…
Ah, the Google Content Network…maligned and often rightly so. This piece (Search Engine Land) goes into a lot of detail about why it can be very ineffective for advertisers — which catch you up on why it ends up as #1 on lists like this one (Apogee Marketing). The Search Engine Land article, however, also gives an excellent walkthrough of how to do a content-matching campaign that works.
With this approach you will be significantly closer to targeting your content match campaign. Better still, since many people simply turn this feature off, and most others use their search keywords, you will have a…
Clean up your brand online by implementing an integrated SEO Campaign that is Strategic, Opportunistic, Aggressive, and Progressive.
By now, we’re all pretty familiar with the monetary value of our keywords; the keywords that are directly related to our goods or services such as “laptop” ”digital camera” “plasma”, “designer”, etc. Sit down and try to buy one of these keywords for your campaign and you’ll soon realize it comes with a price tag equivalent to purchasing a small island.
However, investing in Search Engine Optimization is one of the critical elements of creating a successful online campaign. Aside from setting a realistic budget,…
Hello everyone, my name is Brandon Zeman and I’m the rookie. I graduated from Northern Illinois University just this past December, so yeah I’m fresh out of the box. Like Abigail, I’m definitely not an expert in SEO or even claim to be, and I will no doubt learn more from our fellow bloggers and the comments we receive. What I think I can contribute, however, is a different perspective of SEO focused more on social media. I pretty much represent the Web 2.0 generation; Facebook was started during my sophomore year of college and I was on MySpace before…
How about a little haiku this morning?
spiders crawl past bots
search strings, links digladiate
behind the commerce
Let’s see what you come up with!
